    The material Voss offers is very powerful indeed. It's taken me a while to fully appreciate, but the moment it did in business for me, WOW, it's nothing short of extraordinary and very powerful. Learn this stuff if deal making is your thing. It doesn't cost you anything, as it's all free on videos like this. So I'm not shilling for him so that buy something from him. But if he ever ventures to the @rsehole of the universe here in Australia, I'll shout him a nice cold beer or two, that's for sure.

      Have you understood the techniques he is offering all free online on videos like this, and actually applied them in deal making? It wouldn't matter what his personal opinion might or might not be in politics for him. I agree with you for sure about the citizenship issue, but that doesn't matter in the slightest to the stuff he teaches in negotiations. It's nuclear weapons using words.

    You're missing the psychology of this. Two people growing up in the same house do not live the same life or reality. Perspective and perception are unique to each individual and this forms our bias that generates our own reality. Fact and truth are a matter of this perspective and perception as well. Your truth and fact are not the same as others. This is why we all don't agree or see things the same.

    For an individual person, it is a wild mix of all the details: genetics, family interactions in general, the few cornerstone moments in life, random chance. The last I've heard, experts believe people have 12-17 cornerstone memories growing up that define them, and we don't get much input into those. BUT, while all that is true for a single person, there are trends that affect large groups of people, and even how those factors affect individuals in much higher probabilities, and those have to be taken into account. There's much more nuance than what she's saying. Unfortunately for those who want to complain, you'll never get as much help from others as you think you should, so you have to work at out yourself. Go get it.

  • @AnsharSeraphim
    @AnsharSeraphim Месяц назад

    The argument presented here is an example of the hasty generalization fallacy. A hasty generalization occurs when someone makes a broad conclusion based on a limited or insufficient amount of evidence. In this case, the speaker is concluding that upbringing or race cannot be significant factors in determining financial success because they and their sibling, who had the same parents and upbringing, have different financial outcomes. This conclusion is based on just two individuals and does not account for the broader range of experiences and factors that can influence financial success across different people and contexts. Additionally, the argument also contains elements of the anecdotal evidence fallacy. This occurs when someone uses a personal story or a single example to make a broad generalization, ignoring larger statistical or scientific evidence. The speaker's personal experience with their sibling does not sufficiently refute the broader statistical correlations between upbringing, race, and financial success. Correlation does not equal causation. Using small sample size like this to make sweeping generalizations about social issues, class issues, or economic issues shows more that the speaker does not understand logic and socioeconomic disparity more than it does any kind of financial sapience. You could have 'worked hard' your entire life and not been impulsive at all and had a sibling with impulse-control issues, a drug problem, and severe lack of financial accountability who has 10x your net worth. You have done nothing in this clip to substantiate ANY concrete point of external relevance.

      @@jackj6219 There aren't any beliefs in my statement, just an objective observation of small sample size, bias, and alternative outcome. No one asked me for my beliefs. That's a whole other subject.

    • @mayenn2006
      @mayenn2006 Месяц назад

      @AnsharSeraphim I really loved your comment. It was insightful, informed, and just plain smart. I also learned the word "sapience"; bold of us to give ourselves such a compliment for a species name. After listening to this lady speak, I knew this wasn't okay - I felt unsettled to put it mildy. But I didn't know how to piece convincingly piece together an argument that was logical and unbiased, something to convince me before anyone else. I was born and live in Central Africa, I'm a medical doctor. Lots of schooling, determination, sacrifice, discipline, effoert. But I am not at all one of the rich or even wealthy. I'm just kind of comfortable - by local standards, not universally. Using myself as a counterexample is being no different from the speaker here. That's me drawing conclusions based on small sample sizes. So, to slightly widen the web, I can for sure tell you that I am surrounded by people at work, at church, family, old friends, who do a lot of the "right things" and we're all still kind of struggling. I have immigrant families and friends in different western countries, working their asses off, getting into great schools. Yet not may make it past making ends meet. I read books, I watch movies, I see the world in one way or another. I am pretty sure that racial & sexist inequalities and limitations exist. I am also pretty sure that personality traits, mental health, other health problems have been known to set people back. I also know that timing can make or break a story, and so can having access to the right information. Running into the right people, social connections we have access to through friends, colleagues & other chosen professional environments. So, I wanted to be objective and ask admit to myself if I was down because I am just full of excuses and bullshit like she alludes to. But that didn't sit right with me. It is wonderful to me that you took the time to put it down for whatever passers-by needed to see it, learn from it and restructure their mind. Even your reply to the commenter who responded to your initial comment: no emotionality, no defensiveness. Just pointing out that you stated scientific facts, and then you let them defend themselves.

    • @AnsharSeraphim
      @AnsharSeraphim Месяц назад

      @@mayenn2006 Thanks for your comment, Mayenn! I don't know if you took the time to take a look at my channel or not, but your comment about mental health and other impediments definitely hits home. I was 75% nonverbal with autism until age 11 (I was honored to have the privilege to speak on this subject at a United Nations event). Today, I teach high stakes negotiation, applied behavioral psychology, and the principles of cognitive neuroscience to professionals, corporations, and entrepreneurs to help them better do what they're most passionate about. I do absolutely believe in the power of dynamic effort, systemized goals, and more, but no matter how well you apply those principles, it doesn't always guarantee a positive financial outcome, as many of those outcomes can depend on factors beyond someone's control. That being said, those same values, instead applied to personal development and enrichment, will almost always pay dividends, but a different kind. I'll leave you with a parting fact. Did you know that studies suggest that young adults with autism, regardless of their support needs, have up to an 85% unemployment rate? The CDC has stated in the past that approximately 1 in 44 people will be diagnosed with autism, and that statistic likely underrepresents the incidence in the female population, who are often underdiagnosed because of etiological and sociocultural differences. Career success, financial success, and many of the other metrics/KPIs we collective judge 'success' on are moving targets. It's my belief that an oversimplification of the metric of 'effort and hard work' may not actually create the deterministic outcomes we hope for as individuals, but they certainly can change our agency as people. It would likely be my position finding value in that outcome, specifically, might make us all more satisfied with our personal journeys. If you'd like more information on what might actually change financial outcomes, rather than just 'effort', some possible recommended reading might include the collected works of Kiyosaki, specifically 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'. He specifically addresses why hard work and effort might not necessarily create the kinds of changes we collectively aim for. Food for thought! Thanks for weighing in. All my best.
